How to Apply:

1. Ensure surface is clean, dry, and free from dust or debris.
2. Stir thoroughly with a low-speed drill and paddle before use.
3. Apply two coats, allowing the first to dry completely before applying the second.
4. When wet, the paint may appear slightly gold, but will turn bright silver as it dries.

! Avoid over-brushing or thick application. Do not apply in wet conditions, as moisture can cause staining !

METHOD OF USE

Preparation

All surfaces must be clean, dry and free from dust and debris. Existing bitumen coatings should be allowed to weather for at least 10 days and preferably for a few weeks before the application of Solar Reflective Paint.

Stir thoroughly before use, preferably with a slow speed drill and paddle for several minutes to ensure complete dispersion of the aluminium. Apply by brush, roller or spray.

Application

When first applied, the film will have a slight gold colour, which will quickly turn silver as the leafing effect of the aluminium takes place.

Two coats should be applied, the second only after the first coat has dried. To avoid staining it is important that Solar Reflective Paint is not applied too thickly. Do not brush excessively as this can cause softening of the substrate.

The presence of moisture on the surface or rain falling before the Solar Reflective Paint has dried can also cause staining.

Cleaning of Tools

Tools may be cleaned by using white spirit or paraffin. Spillages should be wiped off surfaces before the Solar Reflective Paint has set.

STORAGE

Storage life is 24 months in tightly sealed, unopened and undamaged containers, away from sources of heat.

HANDLING

Solar Reflective Paint is solvent based and appropriate protective equipment should be worn to avoid skin and eye contact and breathing fumes. For further information, refer to the relevant Health and Safety Data Sheet.

EMERGENCY ACTION:

* In the event of narcosis due to inhalation of concentrated vapour - remove person to fresh air. Call for medical attention.

* Contact with eyes - thoroughly irrigate eyes with clean, cold water. Call for medical attention.
